Chris Shanley
Chris Shanley is the Director of Allegheny County Pretrial Services, where he oversees the comprehensive management and administration of the department’s activities, including bail services, behavior assessment services, alcohol highway safety services, and ARD diversion services. Prior to this role, Chris served as Deputy Director for five years, during which he was responsible for maintaining policies and procedures, enforcing departmental discipline, and managing the day-to-day operations of Pretrial Services. He also supervised department managers and the Pretrial Supervision Unit, which comprises nine probation officers and the pretrial electronic monitoring program.
Chris brings extensive consulting experience to his role, having worked with both local and national jurisdictions in the early stages of implementing pretrial services. He holds a degree in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice from Duquesne University. Additionally, Chris is a past President of the PA Pretrial Services Association and serves as a Master Trainer for the PA DUI Association.
